Tim Moorey has over 20 years’ experience in the information assurance and cyber security fields including defence, law enforcement, government, civil nuclear and finance sectors.
He has held a range of roles including head of sector security, chief information security officer (CISO) and National cyber policy. He has implemented and led cyber security maturity programmes in FTSE 100 and critical organisations where resilience is pivotal to organisational and societal needs.
Tim has extensive experience assessing, testing, and implementing cyber security controls and governance to help organisations to ensure that they meet regulatory or National requirements but also reduce their own risks of data breaches and cyber-attacks. Through his knowledge and experience, he has enabled firms to achieve the respected ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certifications which help firms demonstrate their commitment to data privacy & responsibility to their customers, shareholders, and the public.
He has led cyber breach exercises to enable board members to be ready to recover quickly from cyber attack scenarios. He believes that preparing for a breach is vital however, having effective, tested recovery plans is critical.
He is passionate and enthusiastic about cyber security and through his collaborative, pragmatic approach, has helped organisations to grow cyber maturity cultures organically. He has spoken at National conferences and delivered cyber awareness programmes which have led to a reduction in serious security breaches and increased vigilance amongst staff.
Tim is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security Professionals, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and an ISO 27001 lead auditor.
